My Therapeutic Approach

As a BACP accredited Integrative counsellor, I have worked with clients in the NHS, voluntary sector and private practice since 2003 to successfully address a wide variety of emotional and psychological challenges.

I specialise in effectively working with clients who are suffering with significant loss and related grief; especially those who are contending with complicated and prolonged grief from, for example, multiple unresolved losses in their life history.

I further specialize in the therapeutic support of those contending with addiction vulnerability; whether related to substance behaviour, including alcohol and drugs, prescribed or otherwise, or to other forms of behavioural addiction, such as gambling, shopping or social media addiction.

There are therapeutic resources relating to grief and addiction located under the More tab in the menu, which you may find helpful.

I work with you both in the ‘here and now’ and with your life experience to truly understand the challenges you may face, so enabling you to achieve both your short-term objectives and the long-term wellbeing you deserve.

As an Integrative counsellor, I am able to call upon my knowledge and significant experience of a number of therapies and to use these in combination appropriate to the specific therapeutic needs that you identify within the process of therapy and optimized to the goals identified by you and the progress thus far achieved.

In combination, the complementary theoretical approaches I employ may enable transformative therapeutic change and progress.

In summary, I provide, in support of your progress, proven therapeutic approaches, evidence-based techniques and easy to use, effective resources. These, integral to the therapy process, facilitate the insight, clarity of self-perception and lasting change necessary to a truly effective outcome from therapy.

You are welcome to book an initial online or phone session with me to explore the best way forward for you.
