Working with me,
from Grief To Wellbeing
"Give sorrow words.
The grief that does not speak whispers
the o'er-fraught heart and bids it break".
Macbeth, William Shakespeare
Significant loss may cause us to feel stuck, lost in grief, removed from those around us and the life we thought we had; uncertain, confused, searching for answers.
As a Grief Work specialist, I work with you both in the ‘here and now’ and with your life experiences to truly understand you, the nature of your grief and the consequent challenges you may face.
This process of working together for your story to be fully heard and for us to gain therapeutic insight and understanding can be transformative and enable you to progress from Grief to Wellbeing.
You may be suffering with significant loss and related grief, whether deceased, relationship or other loss. You may be contending with complex and prolonged grief from, for example, multiple unresolved losses or rejections in your life.
As an Integrative counsellor and Grief Work specialist, I am able to call upon my knowledge and significant experience of different therapeutic approaches and techniques and to provide you with resources specific to the nature of your grief and appropriate to your life experience and therapeutic needs to enable transformative therapeutic change and lasting progress from Grief to Wellbeing.
You are very welcome to read my free grief resource, which you may find helpful prior to our work together, by selecting the Grief Resource tab.
FAQs
-
Do you offer face to face and online/phone sessions?
Yes. You are free to choose whatever form of therapy is convenient for you. You can also start with one and change to another; whatever meets your needs.
-
What online platforms do you use?
I offer WhatsApp, Teams, FaceTime or Google Meet; whichever is most convenient for you.
-
How long are the sessions?
Sessions can be 30 minutes or 50 minutes. You can attend for as long as feels right for you, up to the 30 or 50 minutes purchased.
-
How many sessions will I need?
It is your decision, depending upon various factors including your sense of the progress you are achieving in our work together.
It is something that can be reviewed and discussed in the course of the therapy. You are, of course, free to stop at any time, if you believe the progress you have achieved at that time is sufficient.
You can also return in the future, should you wish.
-
What are your session fees?
A 30 minutes online/phone session is £35. A 50 minutes online/phone session is £65.
A 30 minutes face to face session is £55. A 50 minutes face to face session is £85.
-
Will the sessions be confidential?
Yes. We are working together in therapy solely to further your wellbeing.
As an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work within the BACP Ethical Framework, which seeks to ensure your right to best practice therapy support and avoidance of harm.
-
What happens in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for you to talk, at your pace and in your way, about whatever has brought you to therapy; and for us to explore your circumstances and experiences, and to begin to think about the best ways forward for you.
Therapy is about building a 'therapeutic alliance' between the client and the therapist. This alliance works to further your progress in addressing the challenges that have brought you to therapy and to enable your long-term wellbeing.
-
What happens if I don't think our therapeutic relationship is working?
If our work together doesn't seem to be working as well as you had hoped, you are free to discuss your concerns and for us to consider a different approach; or for you to try working with another therapist.
You are always free to decide what is best for you.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
If you have scheduled a session which you are later unable to attend, please try to provide 24 hours notice. However, even if circumstances prevent your providing 24 hours notice, I always try to reschedule our session, if possible, to a more convenient day and time.
Let's work together for you, from Grief to Wellbeing.
